Can a shooter actually influence the dice?
Blog from WinningGamblingStrategies.com
Flip Nehrt
Like the Crusades or Trump/Anti-Trump discussions, there are two very strongly held beliefs on this. I think that some of this comes from the wording of the question, and some comes from the belief that a bit of disruption causes total destruction of initial conditions.
So, let's take the wording first. This is something you have to quickly adjust between first getting excited about "Dice Control" and when you actually start getting into it and understanding what is going on. When you are first introduced to the idea, "Dice Control" is what you hear the most. "Wow! I'm going to learn how to actually CONTROL the dice to make them do what I want!" Like mesmerizing the dice, you will be able to force them to your will.
Then, you actually start learning about it, and you realize that you actually have very little control over them. However, "very little" is not none.
Let's take a baseball player at bat (sorry, I'm American so that's what comes to mind). They player is planning on pounding the ball far off into the stands for a home run. In fact, that's pretty much what every batter is hoping for every time. But what happens? The pitcher throws a curve ball, or the batter is distracted for a fraction of a second, or the wind blows a tiny bit. Or a bird flies in and gets clipped by the ball. That is, there are any NUMBER of things that could (and DO) happen that keep that particular hit from becoming a home run. These are not excuses, merely the everyday influences of the every changing environment in the world around the batter
So we take this to the shooter. As much as they want to make the dice bend to their will, PHYSICS will play a major part in keeping this from happening. However, setting the dice in a particular way and throwing perfectly WILL have some effect on their outcome. The ONE thing that the casino has put on the craps table to randomize the shooters throw are the foam diamonds around the sides of the table that the shooter is supposed to hit.
However, note that many shooters do not always hit those. It depends on the strictness of the boxman, but often if the shooter makes the attempt and gets close, they are fine. Too many times, they might get called, but a couple of times they can often slide by. Second, even if the dice do hit the diamonds, there is a chance, low, but a chance, that it will not throw off the dice from the intended influence by that much.
ALL of this taken into account, all the shooter has to do is SLIGHTLY influence the fall of the dice to sway the odds to their side in the long run. Smart betting and slightly changing the odds to your numbers showing up more frequently can make you money. It does not take CONTROL to win you money, only INFLUENCE, and a small amount at that.
Finally, there is the simple proof that there are a fair number of people out there that do this regularly. Are they breaking the bank? NO! That is the point. They are influencing the dice enough to make some money, and walking. If a player shoots 4 times and makes $500 and walks, the casino won't even notice, but that is a decent payoff for the shooter.
I would venture to say that the vast majority of the deniers (such a common term these days) are those that tried for an afternoon or two to change their RRS number and didn't see any change, so they determined that it was all hogwash used to sell shooting systems. They refuse to understand that it may take months of daily practice several hours a day to master the nuances of the set, the pick-up and the throw. In addition, a batter that comes to the plate KNOWING that they can't hit worth crap is going to strike out each time. The batter that knows he is well skilled and practiced knows that he has a good chance of hitting that home run.

For anyone visiting a casino, whether often or just occasionally, the experience can be intimidating. This book can help level the playing field for the visitor and lower the house's odds. Mr. Nehrt has blended gambling concepts and strategies into an understandable, educational, instructional and thoroughly enjoyable walk through a realistic experience at a typical casino. Armed with this knowledge you will be better prepared to visit the lion's den and walk out a winner. This is a mandatory read if you don't like walking away from a casino feeling fleeced yet again.
As an amateur gambler it is easy to feel like you are only grasping a limited knowledge of a game. Just enough to play but not enough to play at your full potential or to skillfully make money. This book just shaved years off of my learning curve. Finally a book that helps make the games feel intuitive and un-shrouds the mystery that tends to leave a gambler at a disadvantage. A quick read but packed with insightful information that doesn't get wrapped up in off putting jargon. Just what I needed.
This book comes from one who has studied gaming and applies theory to make it practical and fun. A little reading will make the trip to the casino more enjoyable for you because after all, taking something home from the casino is always more fun than leaving it behind. This has the potential to make that happen. Not every time. No amount of education will make you an every time winner. But you only need a little help to beat the house more frequently and this is that help. Have fun and enjoy a quick informative read.
For someone (like me) who loves to play games, I always shied away from gambling, but this book gives me the confidence to try my hand. Mr. Nehrt obviously knows his stuff, and I appreciate his eyes-wide-open approach mixed with knowledge and passion for the games of chance. This is the only book you'll need to get up to speed so that you can bet and play with confidence - even the first time out.
This book has changed the way I gamble! Many other authors have attempted to outline a successful technique that works, but this is the only book that I've found that makes it all really simple. I'd recommend this book to the novice and to the pro.
Take a sneak peak inside
Dedicated research on other systems and personal experimentation has turned a handful of notes into a comprehensive collection of potentially winning strategies. First and foremost, it is important to understanding that there is no winning system that can beat the mathematical odds that the casino has against a player. However, this book teaches you strategies to follow while in the casino, giving you a large amount of information to help you walk out a winner.
These tips can benefit players of all experience levels. You will learn to think how the casino thinks, and avoid the traps they set for every player. Inside you will find the general rules for each of the main games, tips on how to approach a table, what to say to the dealers, how to handle your money, and especially a broad range of specific strategies, or “systems” for each of the games covered. This book makes the game and strategy information easy to understand and follow, as well as fun and enjoyable to read, with a bit of irreverant humor sprinkled throughout.
